STEM classrooms assessed at two South Al Sharqiyah schools

Original Arabic edition: 30 October 2026 · 08:13 Oman time (UTC+4). This English adaptation covers the same story.

The Ministry of Education conducted a visit on 29 October 2026 to assess the STEM Oman classroom initiative in South Al Sharqiyah, covering Uqba bin Nafi Boys' School and Al Kamil Girls' School, according to a ministry report published that day.

The team examined classroom equipment and the scientific experiments used in science, technology, engineering and mathematics learning. The initiative was launched by the Oman LNG Development Foundation.

The ministry said the visit aimed to review educational outcomes and explore how the initiative might be developed and made available more widely. The report published no quantitative evaluation results, beneficiary count or decision to open additional classrooms.

The distinction between assessment and expansion matters here: the announced activity was a visit to study impact and opportunities. Establishing improved learning outcomes or the scope of a new expansion requires subsequent findings and decisions.
