Twelve races close Adam camel-racing round on 29 October

Original Arabic edition: 30 October 2026 · 14:52 Oman time (UTC+4). This English adaptation covers the same story.

Al Bashair racecourse in Adam, Al Dakhiliyah, hosted the conclusion of the third round of community camel races organised by the Oman Camel Racing Federation on Thursday, 29 October 2026. According to an Oman News Agency report republished by Al Shabiba, the competition ran for three days, with 250 female and male camels competing in 12 races on the final day.

The final day's programme included six Jidha races over five kilometres each and three Thanaya races over six kilometres. The remaining three races were for the Hawl and Zamoul categories, also over six kilometres.

Among the results reported, ‘Hormuz’, owned by the Royal Camel Corps and trained by Hamad bin Mohammed Al Wahaibi, won the first Jidha race. ‘Damaa’, also owned by the Royal Camel Corps and trained by Said bin Hamad Al Jahafi, led the first Thanaya race, while ‘Al Mared’, owned by Said bin Hamoud Al Malki, won the Zamoul race.

These results document the conclusion of the Adam competition within the annual community racing programme. The report does not include finishing times or margins, so it does not allow comparisons of timed performance between races.
